Technorati Revamps *Again*
December 5th, 2007 by MattTechnorati has had an overhaul again. They’ve had a redesign (for the second time this year) and they’ve totally changed the main page’s content (for the 3rd+ time this year). The new version of the site looks like this:

Sure, they change the design just when I was getting used to the previous one.
They seem to be taking a more blogger-centric approach this time around, implementing TechMeme-style content on the index, and they’re cramming as much information as possible onto the page. The search form, unfortunately, has shrunk. It’s now a tiny little field up in the header (which is taken-up mainly by a huge ad). Also, the “topics” feature seems to have been killed-off.
Also introduced is Technorati Blogging Central, a place to find more than you want to know about the current state of the blogosphere.
I think I like the old, much cleaner, design better. The header was clear and had a prominent logo. The content area didn’t have so much stuff crammed together, and there was plenty of whitespace. Technorati, get your design right, then focus on fixing the problems you already have instead of trying to be TechMeme!
