It's missing a lot of advanced functionality, though. Like the ability to quickly save a link to Read It Later or Instapaper, or that swipey menu.

That said, I'm kind of glad they did it, as I finally tried Tweetbot. It's amazing. No agonizingly slow launch time, and every UI action is silky smooth. It's like the old Twitter app, only it looks and works a lot better.

Little late in replying here, but I do like the new Twitter iPhone app. For one thing, the "Discover" page is quite cool. I've never really used hash tags in my life, but I'm starting to use this page as it's a nice look at popular topics.

I also like the additions to the "Mentions" tab (Listing new followers and when people favorite or retweet your tweets). I guess over time you could consider all of that annoying, but for now, I'm still in the phase where I quite like it.

It's also a lot better for viewing user's profiles than I remember Tweetie (Or official Twitter or whatever it was called a few weeks ago! xD ) to be. It's the simple things like the big, clear "Follow" buttons, or the "Tweet to X" button on their profile that I like.

The only thing I've really missed so far is the swipe feature on tweets for replying etc. That was far handier in the old version.
