Have you ever had to give someone a shortened version of a URL? Maybe you’re a podcaster, and you need to say “visit mydomain.com/2008/01/03/my-post-with-a-long-url/ for more info.” Wouldn’t it be useful if you could just say “go to mydomain.com/go/mycoolpost/ ?”

WS Referrer Plugin

Have you ever wanted to show or hide portions of your blog template depending on the site a user is coming from? Using the PHP referrer global variable, this plugin can do just that. Inspired by the podcast by Darren Rowse and Yaro Starack.

Someone recently brought a new polling service to my attention. GFXPoll.com allows you to create polls in a wide array of styles. You can even create a poll without registering (something that too many sites don't offer). The site seems to be fairly new, though it appears to be gaining a sizeable following.

Superblogger. Definition: Darren Rowse, Maki, John Chow, etc. A word I thought-up while writing a post today. A blogger, with a large following, who writes often, makes use of social bookmarking/networking sites, and is considered to be one of the top bloggers in a field. But it goes beyond blog status though. A superblogger must have a large collection of RSS feeds, spend a lot of time online, and be constantly at work trying to offer as much value to his or her readers as possible.
