Design Spotlight: Del.icio.us 2.0

The popular social bookmarking site Del.icio.us redesigned over the past week. Overall they’ve kept a similar look, and haven’t lost any of the simplicity. It’s more polished looking, and probably more usable. Oh, and they’ve dropped the dots from the URL, becoming Delicious.com.

I think it’s an improvement, and a well-executed one. I don’t forsee an uproar over the design change, as happens often with design changes, seeing as they kept their overall look, and improved upon it, rather than adding a bunch of shiny plastic and “BETA” tags.

What do you think of the new design? I like it personally, though I’m not in the habit of using the site on a regular basis. (I prefer to use the Firefox extension day-to-day.)
